Becky's Message

Growing up in Florida since the age of 10, the environment and outdoors have always been front and center in my life.

On Council, I voted to acquire the gopher tortoise sanctuaries on Marco. I forged a partnership with the Naples Botanical Garden to collaborate on an initiative to plant 10,000 trees on Marco Island to help keep our city green, natural and beautiful.

Our waterways and beaches are our most precious natural resources. As your City Councilor, I voted to address swales and street cleaning to improve water quality. With my experience as a certified Master Naturalist and Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Certified Inspector, I am constantly looking toward best practices with a proven return on investment for our citizens for the protection of our water.

I am a proven fiscal conservative and have voted every year for the roll back rate to keep taxes low for the citizens of Marco Island and to keep a balanced budget.

I advocate for private property rights and limited government. I believe the US Constitution contains the principles that should guide every decision we make on city council.

I support our first responders; Police, Fire, EMS, Water and Public Works. I support, thank and respect our military veterans. My office hosts a free BBQ luncheon once a month to thank our first responders in a personal, meaningful and fun way.

I support local families and local businesses. I care deeply about the people who make our economy work and who work hard every day in all walks of life. I will continue to protect our rights to free speech and to pursue happiness in this island paradise.

I'd like to thank the citizens of Marco Island for all your love and support these past four years and I pledge to continue to be your voice and advocate on City Council for the next four years.

I humbly ask for your continued support and for your vote on November 5th.

Becky Irwin

Marco Island City Councilor
